To anyone who went to the Capital today to “Make a Difference,” you did.
You made the difference in numerous individuals not getting to their Dialysis appointments on time. Do you have any idea what a few hours past due for dialysis can do and possibly a day? Clearly not. I do.
You made the difference in ambulances being delayed to get into Sparrow Hospital by blocking the ambulance entrance. Have you ever seen an ambulance coming in lights and sirens and being ready to relieve someone from compressions and coding a patient who needs more medical attention; that they can only get from a hospital? Clearly not. I do.
You made the difference in patients not being able to get into the hospital in their own cars due to blocking the entrance? Have you seen a patient come in with concerns of Covid-19 terrified that they have it and have now given it to their family? Clearly not. I do.
You made the difference in our state by disrespecting social distancing and now probably set a chain reaction, waves of a Covid-19 among the population. Have you worked at the frontlines; do you know what it’s like to witness a spouse being told they will never see their most beloved loved one ever again? Clearly not. I do.
You have made the difference in disrespecting “That Woman from Michigan” when she is only doing her best and trying to save lives. Have you ever had to make decisions for an entire state during a Pandemic? Clearly not. I can’t even imagine.
You have made the difference in making me now believe that you all think you are invisible and are immune to this demon. You know it’s an equal opportunity employer right? Have you ever come home from work terrified, do you know what it’s like to be worried you will be the one to give this fuck of a virus to you most favorite person? Clearly not. I do.
You may not respect social distancing.
“You cannot ‘peacefully assemble’ at a place when there is reasonable chance you are carrying a biological weapon with no ability to control its destination”
Now excuse me while I get ready for my 5th 12 hour shift in a row. So I can fight like hell for you.
